James Howard Morris, Jr., 75, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, died Friday, April 15, 2022 at his home. Born in Newport News, Virginia on September 16, 1946, the son of the late James Howard Morris and Claudia Clark Morris, he served his country honorably in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked in construction and sales until his retirement. Mr. Morris was a Mason and a member of Great Bridge Lodge #257 and a Fellow of the American Society of Safety Professionals.

He is survived by one son, James Howard Morris, III (Colleen) of Austin, TX; two sisters, Judy Wallace (Jimmy) of Elizabeth City, NC and Joan Metzger of Camden, NC; one brother, John Morris (Shirley) of Hertford, North Carolina; a half-brother, Leslie Morris; two grandchildren, James Howard Morris, IV of MI and Sean Kyle Morris (Cynthia) of VA; and seventeen nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Johnstone, and two brothers, Joseph Morris and Andrew Morris.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Twiford Memorial Chapel. The service will be streamed live at www.facebook.com/TwifordFuneralHome.
