Vacation at the Atlantis Resort

The writer Heidi Gollub, who shares it best tips for atlantiscompares the planning of an Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas vacation to planning a cruise. “There are quite a few things to consider, including international travel (are you up-to-date passports?), transportation on the island (how will you get there from the airport?) and entertainment (yes, you should pre-book restaurants and excursions),” she says.

Atlantis can’t help you with an expired passport, but this deal takes care of the island transportation challenge with its included airport transfers. And these pre-dinner cocktails will ease any wait for your table.

Things to do at Atlantis Resort

At Atlantis Paradise Island, the entertainment challenge is real. You may never want to leave your suite with its comfortable spaces and breathtaking views of the aqua blue sea. But your kids won’t be happy staying inside once they’ve had a look at the 141-acre Aquaventure water park with its slides and pools and not-so-lazy River Ride. And you won’t want to miss the chance to stroll the private sandy beaches of Atlantis.

And you’ll all want to explore the many marine habitats, 14 lagoons and aquariums filled with 50,000 aquatic animals. As you walk through the park, you will see saw sharks, stingrays and sea turtles. Don’t miss daily animal feedings, including sharks, at the Stingray Lagoon, Predator Lagoon, ruins, and Mayan Temple.

Heidi recommends stopping at the gift shop to buy the kids’ snorkels. This will help you keep them away from the water park to discover the lagoons and dive into the ocean.
