SOEN Announces Concert Film Release “Atlantis”, Watch Video For First Single “Trials”

On November 18, 2022, the engaging, enchanting, cutting edge, yet beautiful Swedish metal supergroup soen will publish (via Silver Lining Music) a very special film-concert, “Atlantis”featuring thirteen of the band’s most popular compositions reinterpreted with live orchestral accompaniment.

The perfect way to soen celebrating a decade together; “Atlantis” was created within the mystical and magical confines of Atlantis Grammofon Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, which has seen a wide range of international artists record, from quincy jones at Lenny Kravitz at green day. Former cinema in 1941, it became Metronome Studio (period during which ABBA was born) before becoming Atlantis Grammofon in 1983.

The first track released as a single and video from soen“alternative utopia” is their brand new play “Trials”which can be streamed/watched below.

Founders Martin Lopez and Joel Ekelof deliberate on the meaning of the song: “Freedom should not be taken for granted. Modern society is built to entertain us and keep us passive, forgetting the important things in life. We need to be aware of what we truly value in our lives. The great masses are exploited by a few wolves of wealth, many of whom are put into power ourselves or to whom we pay monthly subscription fees. “Trial” is about the desperation and anger of knowing that society is unfair and that we are all contributing to something that we are against simply by existing. »

Filmed and recorded on December 10, 2021, Martin Lopez (drums & percussion), Joel Ekelof (main voice), Lars Enok Åhlund (guitars & piano), Cody LeeFord (lead guitar) and Oleksii “Zlatoyar” Kobel (bass) worked with an orchestra of 8 musicians to reinterpret and rediscover new energy and elements in the classical soen songs, such as “Antagonist”, “Monarch”, “Jinns” and “lucidity”, aas well as the introduction of a stunning interpretation of Noosedeep dark meditation on darkness rejecting love, “Snuff”.

The end result of this eighty-minute performance is remarkable new auditory refractions from soenis the best material for fans to absorb and enjoy. As has always been the case with soen: the deepest dives deliver the greatest treasures.
