The UConn men’s basketball team will begin its 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis with a first-round matchup against SEC power Auburn on Wednesday, November 24 at 2:30 p.m. (ESPN) at Imperial Arena at Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The UConn-Auburn game is the second half of the tournament-opening doubleheader, which begins with Michigan State facing Loyola-Chicago in Game 1 (noon, ESPN).
In the day one evening doubleheader, Syracuse meets VCU at 5 p.m. (ESPN2), while defending NCAA national champion Baylor takes on Arizona State in the day’s finale (7:30 p.m., ESPN2) .
Battle 4 Atlantis continues on Thanksgiving Day (November 25), when UConn meets Michigan State or Loyola-Chicago at noon or 2:30 p.m.
The tournament championship game is scheduled for Friday, November 26 at 11 a.m. (ESPN), with consolation games scheduled for 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
UConn has an all-time 1-2 record against Auburn, last meeting at Auburn in December 2017. The Huskies are 4-3 against Michigan State, having faced the Spartans in the PK 80 tournament in November 2016. UConn and Loyola-Chicago have never met.
Against the rest of the field, UConn is 39-56 against longtime opponent Syracuse, 1-0 against VCU, 1-0 against Baylor and 2-2 against Arizona State, which is coached by UConn Coach. Dan Hurleyolder brother, Bob.
The 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis will mark UConn’s third appearance in the 10-year-old tournament, starting in 2011, the tournament’s first year, when the Huskies finished third. UConn took fourth place in the 2015 Battle 4 Atlantis. Overall, the Huskies are 3-3 in the tournament.
