VENTNOR CITY — Two teenagers were chased by police after they were seen with other subjects exiting a building the group allegedly illegally entered.
Police were already in the 5200 block of Ventnor Avenue, directing traffic as firefighters worked to put out a fire at a nearby apartment. A group of officers left the scene of the fire and went to the South Vassar Square apartment to investigate, police said.
Two male subjects were seen emerging from a window at the property while others used the front door of the property to leave. The subjects then fled on foot in different directions, police said.
Two 16-year-olds, one from Atlantic City and the other from Clementon, Camden County, were arrested and charged with burglary, resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of the law. They were released into the custody of their guardian and given a future court date, police said.
Police did not say whether any property inside the apartment was stolen or whether the subjects damaged the interior of the building.
